A woodland path at Longholt Wood Natural Burial Ground

About

About Longholt Wood

Nestled in the heart of Lincolnshire’s ancient woodland, Longholt Wood provides a tranquil final resting place for its many residents, and a place of peaceful contemplation for those left behind.

The Woodland

Due to its great age the woodland contains a diverse range of plant and animal life including rare varieties of shrub such as black bryony and midland hawthorn, alongside an abundance of birdlife, butterflies, moths, bugs and lizards.

The adjacent burial pasture was planted in 2010 with Forestry Commission funding, giving it the same long-term protection as the rest of the surrounding ancient woodland. This gives our customers peace of mind knowing the area will only ever be used for natural burials.

Natural Burial

Natural burial allows the body to return to the earth in an environmentally sensitive way. At Longholt Wood, we provide a peaceful and natural setting for this process, with the woodland itself serving as a living memorial.
